Santa Fe Public Schools (SFPS) is excited to introduce an engaging new initiative designed to help students build healthier relationships with technology through collectible trading cards.
Inspired by the excitement of popular trading card games, the SFPS Digital Wellness Trading Card campaign encourages students to learn about balanced technology use in a fun and interactive way. Each card features facts, tips, and reminders that promote healthy screen habits, digital wellness, and mindful technology use. Card packs come in both English and Spanish and will be distributed through each school site.
The SFPS Digital Wellness Trading Card collection includes six base cards, two special foil cards, and 10 rare exclusive redemption cards hidden throughout. Students who discover one of the exclusive redemption cards will receive a free, brand new bicycle, thanks to a partnership between SFPS, the Husband and Wife Law Team, The Housing Trust, and the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Fe.
“This is a creative way to meet students where they are while also encouraging more balance in their day,” said SFPS Superintendent Dr. Christine Griffin. “By blending learning with a little excitement and meaningful incentives, we hope students start to be more intentional about their screen time and find healthy ways to stay active and connected beyond their devices.”
The digital wellness initiative was developed through the leadership and vision of SFPS Board of Education President Kate Noble and Vice President Sarah Boses, who brought forward the Digital Wellness Resolution to the Board in December 2025. The program reflects the district’s ongoing commitment to student wellness, responsible technology use, and balanced digital engagement. By combining interactive learning with positive reinforcement, the trading card initiative encourages students to become more mindful of their technology habits in a way that is both engaging and memorable.
Card packs will be distributed to all SFPS schools on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. Prior to distribution, staff, students, and families will receive information about the district’s digital wellness campaign and the purpose behind the collectible cards.
